The beauty of nature is an inspiring and powerful force, of which the creation of art and the art of creation can be formed exclusively or as a collective balance.

The John, part of the SALT. OPTICS 2015 Collection One.
In 2006, SALT. Optics was born in the heart of Southern California and focusing on that balance of nature, celebrates the California lifestyle and quality Japanese craftsmanship with making premium sunglasses and prescription eyewear that’s both stylish and functional to one’s lifestyle.

For their first collection of 2015, SALT. – which stands for Sea, Air, Land, and their Timeless connection – discovered inspiration in the crystal blue waves of Hawaii, the rugged coastline of Big Sur, the regal mountains of Japan and the magical desert of Palm Springs.

The Costa Mesa, Calif.-based brand then collaborated with three acclaimed outdoor photographers to capture their vision for the collection: Denver, Colorado-based filmmaker/photographer Adam Bove (The Air), San Francisco outdoor lifestyle photographer Meg Haywood Sullivan (The Land), and Haleiwa, Hawaii-based surf photographer Daniel Russo (The Sea) in capturing the aesthetic of nature.
